Regcharles Foundation is the not-for-profit arm of Regcharles Group.

Our vision is to be at the forefront of entrepreneurship education and development in Africa, focused on women and youth in marginalized Nigerian communities.  We are committed to social impact investing by equipping our segments with capacity development, financial inclusion as well as micro credit opportunities for micro, small and medium scale enterprises.

In as much as Nigeria ranks one of the fastest growing economies in the world, poverty reduction and job creation have not kept pace with population growth, implying social distress for an increasing number of Nigerians. Progress towards the fulfilment of many of the Millennium Development Goals has been slow, and the country ranked 153 out of 186 countries in the 2013 United Nations Human Development Index.

Badagry, one of the rural communities in Lagos, Nigeria is far from achieving success in terms of entrepreneurial development and job creation. Feedback from our research in Badagry highlights the utmost need to equip the women with vocational skills, entrpreneurial trainings, leadership skills and provision of micro credits to empower these women and impact the nation. We would work with the women for a period of 18 months (through our monitoring and evaluation team) to ensure the businesses run and yield profits.

The project plan is to engage 100 women for a 5-days training programme on vocational, entrepreneurship and leadership skills. At completion of the training, women will be grouped into industry clusters for the micro-credits. A very flexible repayment plan will be offered to the women, this would ensure the sustainability of the project.

Our technical partners for this project are: Lagos State Ministry for Rural Development and Lagos State Ministry for Women and Poverty Alleviation.

Our expected outcomes are:

       •   Reduced unemployment rate

       •   Economically selfreliant women

       •   Financial literacy among women

       •   Increased personal development skills

       •   Stronger women leaders

To successfully implement this project, Regcharles Foundation is relying on philanthropic organizations, social impact investors, corporations and well-meaning individuals to achieve our vision.

       •   Specifically we require the sum of $31,250 to provide seed funds for the women.

       •   Each woman needs at least $312.5 as seed fund to start a small business.

       •   We would keep our donors updated on every step of the programme and we implore you to join our cause. Empower a woman! Create a change!

Attractions: Individuals who donate $312.5 and above would have a One day tour experience to Badagry with visits to The Badagry Museum, First Storey Building, Badagry Beach and the Slave route). You will also have the opportunity to have the Miss Tourism 2013 as your Tour Guide.

Badagry has her peculiar charm.
